You know those people you meet only once in a blue moon who you walk away from and feel a sense of calm. They make you feel good just being around them because their positivity shines so bright!
Meet Darrielle, Miracle Believer, Mother of 2, and an inspiration to many...
Did you find it a big transition becoming a mum?
Motherhood for me has been a rollercoaster ride! 2 years into my journey, our beautiful daughter Bella (now 8), was diagnosed with Autism, then only a few years ago she was re-diagnosed with a genetic condition called Rett Syndrome. I will be honest and say that I fell to pieces for 5 long years with a lot of fear about what the future may hold. I was an absolute mess emotionally and hit rock bottom.
BUT one day I woke up and thought… How can I be so sad all of the time when she continues to smile? And so from that day onwards, I made it my mission to find happiness and make massive change in my life. I have seen such amazing transformation unfold not only for myself and my daughter, but also for my 6 year old son and my relationship with my husband. We have seen miracles unfold with health and many other mind-blowing changes since I committed to healing myself.
How do you remain so positive?
Throughout my ‘quest to find happiness’, I also found myself (I realised I actually never really knew who I was in the first place!). I learnt who I really am beneath all of the heavy layers I was carrying around with me. Feeling positive comes when we release the things from our lives that no longer serve us. So when I am faced with a challenge now, I honour it, I allow myself to feel the pain, and I reach into my toolkit and do whatever it takes to step forward. When we can embrace and heal suffering, then we create space and freedom for ourselves to shine.
Tell us about your mission?
Because I have seen such amazing transformation unfold within my own family, my mission is now to help other mums to step into harmony and flow within their lives too.. no matter how tough they feel their circumstances currently are. I have created coaching services, programs and events to support mothers to step out of constant stress and overwhelm, and into a more peaceful way of being. I am a Holistic Counsellor and Motherhood Coach and I work with mothers by supporting and journeying alongside them throughout the process of transformation.
Is there any advice you would offer other mums?
I think the biggest lesson for me as a mum has been learning that I am my children’s biggest role model. So if I am constantly feeling stressed and anxious, then my children will feed off and potentially mimic my behaviour as they grow. Therefore, in order for us to provide our children with the optimal environment to thrive in, WE need to thrive first so that they can follow in our footsteps. So instead of feeling guilt about loving and caring for ourselves, we need to see just how beneficial this is for our children in the long run… when we feel good, then our children feed off this energy!
What are 3 main values you are trying to teach your children?
- To always follow their own inner guidance even if that means saying no.
- Treat others the way you want to be treated.
- To love themselves.
As a Mum, what do you find most challenging about raising children?
The extremely high expectations around motherhood in society today. As mothers, from the second we fall pregnant, we are bombarded with pressure to show up in so many different ways. We take on beliefs and advice from family, friends, the media etc and we slowly step further and further away from who we really are and what we actually desire in our lives. It’s time for us to shed these burdens and start living from a place that is our own truth. When we can strip back the layers and tap into what truly serves us and our families, then we begin to finally feel capable and in control of what is unfolding around us.
